Observation: As I was walking along the street I noticed a long, thin, cylindrical, shiny metallic object about 20 feet long moving very fast through the air about 150 feet above the horizon. There was no engine sound and some other people saw it too. Description: No sound. Very shiny, I could see the sun shining off it. There was no engine sound. Location: Campbell Crescent, Terrigal NSW Apparent Size: Dinner Plate - Actual Size: About 20 feet- Altitude: About 150 feet - Object Origin: East to west - Object Destination: Went straight over the horizon. - Weather Visibility: Clear, Warm, Calm. Description: There was no sound, no change in shape. Location: In Seaforth facing east towards Balgowlah/ Manly. Actual Size: I estimate the object being at that altitude it was maybe 20ft-30ft in diameter. Altitude: It seemed to be just above the height of the storm clouds. Object Origin: It appeared from the south ( sth-east to me)and stayed at about the same altitude. - Object Destination: It disappeared to the north (nth-east from my position) - Moon Visible: NO, I didn't see the moon. It was behind the storm clouds. - Moon Size Comparison: - Planets Visible: Yes, a few bigger stars were visible and a planet in the west. The sky was still a deep blue as the sun had just set. - Weather Visibility: Clear, Pleasant, Breezy Weather Comments: But storm clouds filled the northern skies. Observation: My wife and I have just witnessed a red light very high up, pulsating from dull to bright but "never" going out (not an aircraft light). was moving from a south to north direction. Unlike an aircraft, it was occasionally coming to a complete stop. briefly pausing then continue but never in a straight line. during the whole encounter it come to a complete stop at least 20 times. then continued on a slightly different course in the 5 minutes we watched it change course from a south to north direction to a west to east direction. Description: I pointed out to my wife the the object never moved in a straight line. After a pause it would continue but would change course every now and then veering slightly right or left. sometimes even change course 7 or 8 times before pausing again. when it did pause it was stay stationary for between 1 to 10 seconds. Apparent Size Other: It was high up but slightly bigger then the stars Object Origin: when we first noticed it it was heading in a direct south to north direction. - Object Destination: By the time we lost sight of it it was heading in a direct west to east direction - Moon Visible: Waning Gibbous 94% Full At the time we where not focussed on the position of the moon. sorry. Planets Visible: Yes. It was a clear morning no clouds in sight - Weather Visibility: Clear, Cold, Sunny, Calm Description: no no sounds very large bright light - Location: In Eaglehawk Bendigo near Eaglehawk golf club - Apparent Size Other: looked round and bright. - Altitude: had to say 1,000 feet or so - Object Origin: north Object Destination: south - Moon Visible: yes .the moon was very large and looked a bit orange in colour I could see the moon in the east Moon Size Comparison: smaller - Planets Visible: yes - Weather: Pleasant, little cloud haze. Received: on 18/10/2008 21:31:18 Description: Solid circular light slighlt smaller than Venus which was also visible but not as bright, I would guess magnitude 2. Weather Visibility: Clear, Mild, Cloudy, Breezy Other Experiences: 1997 I saw a bright light high in the northern sky flash 12 time 5 seconds between flashes my partner observed the last 6 with me. 17.10.08 EAGLEHAWK (VIC) 2115hrs Description: no no sounds very large bright light - Location: In Eaglehawk Bendigo near Eaglehawk golf club - Apparent Size Other: looked round and bright. - Altitude: had to say 1,000 feet or so - Object Origin: north Object Destination: south - Moon Visible: yes .the moon was very large and looked a bit orange in colour I could see the moon in the east Moon Size Comparison: smaller - Planets Visible: yes - Weather: Pleasant, little cloud haze. 11.10.08 CARRICK (TAS) 2157hrs Observation: Husband went outside to lock up, he thought for the cold period we had it was quite humid, clear and very bright "starry" night. He was looking around at the evening sky and notice a bright light moving very slowly which he initially thought was an aeroplane. However the movement stopped and he noticed the light became brighter and was a brilliant orange colour (stationery over the Cluan Tiers). A very fine light similar to a spot light beam was noticeable underneath which was moving in a sweeping pattern. The spot light / beam came and went over the duration and the bright orange colour was changing between reds/blues/greens etc - slowly moved downards towards the hill / ground area and eventually the light disappeared (as if it had reached the ground). Description: Shape appeared to stay the same but colours alternated between bright reds/oranges/blues/greens etc. Also had a sweeping type beam of light coming from underneath. Moved slowly in a descending manner. Location: Carrick looking North West across to the Western Tiers (Cluan Tiers). - Apparent Size Other: Large star size - Actual Size: Unable to tell. Altitude: Initally above the hills but appeared to descend to ground level. Object Origin: Westerly direction - Object Destination: Same area Moon Visible: Yes, bright moon northerly direction. - Moon Size Comparison: Much smaller - large star size - Planets Visible: Stars visible 01.10.08 KILLARNEY VALE (NSW) 2220hrs Observation: Driving north along the F3 just up from Berowra on ramp. Saw a light in the sky round White about 1k up light moved erratically & then zipped off behind one of the few clouds around. Light was not the moon or a car light reflecting off cabbage leaves? Light was clear white & Location: Just north of Berowra On ramp on the F3. Apparent Size: Tennis Ball - Actual Size: 50 to 75 metres? - Altitude: about 1k up - Object Origin: from behind us parallel to F3 on the left hand side & then straight up - Object Destination: Straight up - Moon Visible: just visible off to the right - Moon Size Comparison: about a quarter of the size - January February March April May June July August September October November December 1800 772288 |
