DISCLOSURE AUSTRALIA
NEWSLETTER ONE JUNE 2003
Keith Basterfield of AURA has retired. Please direct any question to above email
Introduction:
An Australian Disclosure Project has been established. It will be known as “Disclosure Australia” for short, or by its full title, “The Australian UFO Research Network Disclosure Project.”
The Project is auspiced by the Australian UFO Research Network, PO Box 738, Jimboomba, Queensland, 4280, with an Adelaide based Secretariat, operated by the Australian UFO Research Association, PO Box 786, North Adelaide, South Australia 5006. The Australian UFO Research Association was formed in early 2003. It consists mainly of current or retired professional business people, who have a serious and deep interest in researching the UFO phenomenon. It operates using a business model. Within South Australia it has already achieved a reputation as a creative, dynamic, energetic association of researchers who deliver what they promise.
The Project’s Mission Statement is:
To ascertain the extent of official Australian Government knowledge of the UFO phenomenon; then to document both this and civilian knowledge on the subject.
• The Project’s aims are:
1. To collect, collate, analyse and disseminate information about what is currently known about Australian Government knowledge of the UFO phenomenon.
2. To document and make available the “best” Australian UFO cases held by both civilian and Government sources.
3. To ascertain what knowledge of the UFO phenomenon may not currently be in the public domain, and seek to document and disseminate this information to interested parties.
Actions:
Drawing from the outcomes of the questionnaire survey of Australian UFO organisations about Disclosure, undertaken earlier his year, we now suggest that the following list of actions be undertaken. No doubt there will be other actions along the way, and as always in a collaborative project of this nature, we welcome your input.
To liaise between a UFO organisation and the Disclosure Australia Secretariat in Adelaideon all matters pertaining to the Project. We expect this person to keep your organisation fully informed at all times on their actions in relation to the Project. Once appointed, we would communicate directly with this nominated individual, unless advised otherwise by you.
To examine the UFO files held by your group for what they/your group consider to be outstanding, well documented examples of the UFO phenomenon in Australia. Once located, copies of these would be forwarded, either electronically or in hard copy format, minus any personal identifiers of the witness/es, to the Disclosure Australia Project Secretariat in Adelaide, for the purpose of screening them for possible placement in the “Best Cases” archive.
If you are an individual researcher and do not belong to any organisation, we’d ask that you liaise directly with us as an individual interested party.
We enclose a nomination form, and would ask that you complete and return it in the enclosed s.a.e. to The Secretariat, Disclosure Australia,
PO Box 786, North Adelaide,
South Australia 5006 before 12 July 2003.
Archive:
We have commenced work on both the hard copy and electronic Disclosure Australia Project archive of “best cases,” based on material already held by a number of us. We are currently seeking permission from a number of researchers/groups whose case studies we wish to place on the archive. It is hoped to have a web presence with these documents within a few weeks.
Naturally, this archive will only be as good as the material which we all contribute to it, so we seek your active assistance in this regard. Once you appoint a liaison person we will discuss this more fully with them, so that they can brief you/your committee.
Website:
A basic Disclosure Australia website has been established and can be viewed at http://disclosure.freewebpage.org to convey initial information on the project.
