Witness was looking at the stars when one of them began to move south at satellite speed. Then another "star" moved toward the north. After traveling fifteen degrees, they went out. VUFORS
06.09.96 MELBOURNE (WERRIBEE), VIC 2215hrs (NL)
Very large Orange light travelling slowly from North to S.W. Underneath the large object was a row of lights as from windows and underneath that were rows of smaller lights as in panels sloping downwards. There were about 12 panels. Object disappeared behind trees. VUFORS
09.09.96 BRISBANE (LOGANHOLME), QLD 1737hrs (CE1)
A gentleman at Loganholme witnessed a silver object on the western horizon (45 to 50 degrees). He estimated it was approximately 15 kilometers away from him. The Sun was reflecting off it. He checked with the commercial and military airports and the weather bureau to see what was in the area but there was nothing in that specific area at the time of the sighting. UFOICQ

A number of people were in a car when they saw a light in the sky. It looked like one big light with 2 or 3 smaller lights on either side. The light was very bright white, with a bluish tinge. They no sooner saw it than it disappeared. Duration: 30 seconds. UFORSA
10.09.96 BRISBANE, QLD (IDENTIFIED; STAR ANTARES)
Witness observed a large object pulsating red, green & blue on the northern horizon. It was identified as Antares, the red star in the neck of Scorpius constellation. UFOICQ
17.09.96 MELBOURNE (CHADSTONE), VIC 1215hrs (DO)
A round object with appearance of aluminium estimated to be 30 feet in diameter with reference to high tension electrical towers, travelling from west then curved to the south. VUFORS
18.09.96 BURNIE, TAS 2335hrs (NL)
Motorist travelling home on wet evening suddenly notices group of 5 large, bright, orange lights in a line just over the sea alongside highway. Lights not moving but look to be low and close by. Witness has to concentrate on driving, when looks back lights have gone. TUFOIC
22.09.96 BRISBANE (BRACKEN RIDGE), QLD 2100hrs (IDENTIFIED)
Witness at Bracken ridge observed a star like object whilst looking in the northeastern sky for approximately three and a half-hours. It seemed to be flickering up and down with a red tail. It was the size and colour of a star. When the Witness phoned our Hotline, she was still observing the object. It was identified immediately as a star (unfortunately). UFOICQ
